How we classify, retain and delete data.

This policy sets out how LDPS Africa handles the different types of data that flow through the Intelligence Platform, and the rights customers have over their own records.

This document is app-owned editable content, not a third-party attestation or certification. It describes controls and practices as they exist at the review date.

Data classification

Data on the platform is grouped into four tiers: public (marketing content, published articles), internal (aggregated benchmarks, anonymised trends), customer (farm records, KPI snapshots, financial ledgers) and restricted (authentication credentials, service-role secrets, webhook signing keys).

Ownership and control

Customers retain ownership of the farm, animal, feed, and financial data they upload. LDPS Africa acts as a processor for that data and uses it to operate the platform, compute KPIs, generate reports, and — with explicit opt-in — contribute anonymised metrics to benchmark cohorts.

Retention

Active customer data is retained for the life of the subscription plus 30 days to allow re-subscription without data loss. Audit logs and financial ledger entries are retained for 7 years to support statutory financial reporting. Backups follow the same retention as the underlying table.

Deletion and export

Account holders can export their farm data at any time from the Reports section. Deletion requests are honoured within 30 days and remove customer records from primary storage; residual copies inside backups age out per the retention schedule above.

Subprocessors

The platform relies on a small set of subprocessors: Lovable Cloud (hosting and managed Postgres), Paddle (card payments and tax), Safaricom Daraja (M-Pesa STK), Lovable AI Gateway (model calls), and Hostinger (transactional email). Any change to this list is announced on the Status page and reflected here.

Privacy requests

Access, correction, portability and erasure requests can be sent to privacy@ldpsafrica.com. We acknowledge within 5 business days and complete verified requests within 30 days.
